At Smarties, we understand that it is the partnership between parents, principals and Smarties that makes for a successful tutoring program. We are here to help parents and principals provide students with every opportunity to succeed.
How Smarties Helps Schools
Our programs enhance the school curriculum. We offer enrichment programs to supplement the school’s core curriculum; and intervention programs to fill in gaps and build a strong academic foundation. We communicate frequently with school personnel to inform them of what their students will be learning in our program. Teachers receive a monthly progress report on each student and a comprehensive summary at the end of the program.

All of our students face academic challenges at some level. Our success stories range from helping students that need that extra focus to understand a math concept to a full curriculum designed to improve their overall performance in the classroom. We are proud of the success of our students and how we have been able to expose them to an academic world previously unknown to them, and we delight in watching them continue to grow into bright, energetic scholars. In fact, 95% of classroom teachers report that they would recommend Smarties to their students. On a survey, more than 98% of our parents told us they would enroll their child in Smarties again.

“Camaree was in our program in the fall and is a repeater for this session. I spoke to his teacher this morning and he has made huge gains in reading. One of the Universal Screenings for reading that New London uses is the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA).
