Smarties Tutoring was created in 2007 by Dr. Isaak Aronson. Having worked in and with schools in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Washington D.C. area, Isaak moved to Connecticut and set out to create a company that would become a premier provider of educational services. He built an experienced team and made it his mission to help students realize their potential while working with schools to meet their educational needs
Smarties was founded on the principle of helping people reach their full potential through academic and educational opportunities.
Isaak holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Tufts University, a Master of Arts Degree in International Education from The George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum Theory and Development from the University of Maryland.
Isaak is an avid runner and enjoys spending time and traveling with his growing family.
Steven Alexandrou

Steven is the Vice President of Operations for Smarties Tutoring Services. He ensures that Smarties delivers high-quality programs, smoothly and consistently. Raised in Queens and Long Island, NY, Steve now lives with his wife and dog Penny Lane in Wallingford, CT.
Steve has always had a passion for education and helping people. Being the Vice president of Operations at Smarties Tutoring Services allows Steve to use his educational skills to provide tutoring services for thousands of students. Steve has a BA in History and Economics from Binghamton University and a MA in Teaching Social Studies from SUNY Stony Brook.
Traveling and sports are all passions for Steve. He was involved in sports his whole life and still loves watching and playing any/all sports to this day.
Hayley K. Herrington

Hayley serves as Smarties Tutoring Services Vice President of Personnel, overseeing and supporting Regional Managers, District Managers, Program Managers, and program staff.
Prior to joining the Smarties team, Hayley worked in secondary education for four years as a high-school Spanish teacher, soccer coach and class advisor at North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Education from Clark University. Hayley values the opportunity Smarties provides to help children and families discover the joys of learning. To simultaneously collaborate with other professional educators with this common focus, has proven to be overwhelmingly rewarding.
Hayley is an active Red Sox fan, but enjoys watching and playing nearly all sports. Her most recent accomplishment consists of completing her first Half Marathon, but she has since committed to spending more time with her family, hosting gatherings at her new home and catching up on her reading lists.
